TheNational Team

Selected to represent Ireland at the European Championships annually and the World Championships every second year.

Over the past decade the Irish Taekwon-Do team has enjoyed major success at European and World level.

01

National team selection

The national ITF Taekwon-Do team is selected to represent Ireland in the European Championships, which take place annually, as well as the World Championships, which take place every second year.

The Board of Directors appoint a national team director, a team of coaches and management who set out selection criteria, prepare the team and coach the athletes at the championships. Selection is open to black belts from all ITA clubs. Selection criteria are set out at the start of the campaign and take into account performance in international tournaments and national tournaments as well as the coaching team’s choice.
