High performance

TeamIreland

National squad selection, international competition and the high-performance pathway.

Over the past decade the Irish Taekwon-Do team has enjoyed major success at European and World level.

The national team represents Ireland at the European Championships, held annually, and the World Championships, held every second year.

Selection is open to black belts from all ITA clubs. The criteria are set at the start of each campaign by the national team director, coaches and management appointed by the Board of Directors, and take account of performances at national and international tournaments alongside the coaching team’s selection.
